Yellowheaded Sawfly
Adult yellowheaded sawflies are stingless, wasp-like insects measuring about 1/3 inch long. While the adults are short-lived and do not sting, their larvae feed in groups on spruce needles and can defoliate trees throughout Southcentral Alaska.
Infestations are often first noticed when spruce needles begin thinning or when clusters of larvae are visible feeding on branches. Early identification is important to protect tree health and prevent repeated seasonal damage.
We provide targeted treatments designed to reduce larval populations and protect your spruce trees. Biological treatment options are available, and all applications are performed with people-friendly and pet-friendly practices in mind.
